HOW DOES HVAC WORK?
The functions of HVAC are interdependent when it comes to appropriate indoor air quality as well as thermal convenience. You wouldn't know how complicated and extensive of a system HVAC is until it finally decides to stop working!. HVAC consists of nine distinct parts which make up the whole system. They are air return, filter, exhaust outlets, ducts, electrical element, outdoor unit, compressor, coils and blower.
AIR RETURN:-
This is basically the starting point of your ventilation cycle. It sucks in the air, sends the air through a filter and then finally it passes the air into the main system. Remember to always rub off all the debris so that it does not accumulate and decrease the efficiency of the system.
FILTER:-
This is the second part of the system in which, as discussed earlier, the air is drawn through. The filters are replaceable therefore you can replace the old ones with the new filter so that your machine remains top-notch.
EXHAUST OUTLETS:-
This is the part where the waste gases, created by the system, are eradicated. Tuning the chimney and vent stack annually should be obligatory.
DUCTS:-
The heated or cooled gases pass through these ducts in order to reach the final terminal. The average cleaning time of the ducts should be atleast once in 2 to 5 years.
ELECTRICAL ELEMENTS:-
This part of the HVAC can be a bit tricky and problematic. If anything in the system stops operating, check for the dead batteries in your thermostat or a teetered breaker.
OUTDOOR UNIT
This is the part which is most likely talked about the most out of every other part. The outdoor unit houses the fan or AC which provides the air. This unit should always be free from debris and vegetation as it could lead to a great problem if the plants are stuck in your fan. The outdoor unit consists of two parts; the compressor and the coils.
COMPRESSOR: a compressor condenses the gas and converts it into liquid and sends it into the coils.
COILS: the remaining or excess air is cooled down in the coils through the help of a refringent.
BLOWER
It draws in the warm air through the main section of the unit.
Pro tip: You need to make sure that all the parts are routinely replaced so the machine remains as effective as ever.
PURPOSE OF AN HVAC SYSTEM?
As its abbreviation HVAC suggests, its sole purpose is to provide heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
The heating part involves a pipe system for the fluid carrying the heat or duct if you're working with an air system.
The ventilation section is either natural or forced and when it works as a force it is ordinarily used for cleaning purposes as well.
The third and the final part of the HVAC system is the air conditioning which for obvious reasons is the opposite of heating. Its major purpose is to eliminate the already existing heat from the indoor space.
